Development and Raising Projects at the Marlin Mine West Vero Ore Body:
Montana Exploradora Guatemala S. A. (Goldcorp)
Commodity: Gold (Au)
Marlin mine is located in the western highlands of Guatemala, 25 kilometres west-southwest of the town of Huehuetenango. Dumas has contracts for both development and raising projects at this site.
The development project for some 6,900 meters of ramps and horizontal development was awarded November 2, 2010, at which time Dumas started mobilizing equipment from our maintenance facility in Timmins to the project site. Actual mining work on site started on February 15, 2011 and to date more than 4,500 meters of ramps and horizontal development work has been completed without a safety incident.
The contract for the raise project work was awarded in April 2011. A total of 880 meters of 3.1 meter diameter raise will be excavated upon completion. The first two 238 meter raises will be driven concurrently, underground to surface, with difficult ground conditions approximately 50 meters below the surface breakthrough.
The second pair of 148 meter raises will also be driven concurrently, between levels underground.
In May 2012 Dumas signed a second contract for another 4,200 meters of development work.
