North Portal Operations and Special Excavation at Palmarejo, Mexico:

Palmarejo is an underground and open pit gold and silver operation located in the Sierra Madre Range in Chihuahua State, Mexico, with the capacity to produce an average of approximately 120,000 ounces of gold and 9 million ounces of silver annually.


Dumas Mexico (formerly ISMS) commenced the North Portal Operations, completing 9,463 meters of ramping and drifting, and 546 meters of Alimak raising.

Dumas/ISMS were subsequently engaged to perform the engineering design, special excavation, and installation of a 1,800 Metric Tons Per Day underground cemented rock fill plant.

Overall, the entire program was ongoing for more than 2 years, and concluded in December 2010 with only one minor Lost Time Accident.
