In 2011, Dumas commenced work at the Marlin Mine in Guatemala’s western highlands, 25 kilometres west-southwest of Huehuetenango. Operated by Goldcorp Inc. and later acquired by Newmont, Marlin required significant underground development to access ore zones.
Dumas conducted incline, decline, and lateral development, as well as ore zone excavations for production mining. Crews excavated more than 33,000 metres of ramp and lateral development during the project, regularly achieving over 750 metres of advance per month. Strong performance led to successive contract renewals in 2013 and 2015.
