In late 2011, Dumas commenced shaft sinking at Lac des Iles, near Thunder Bay, Ontario.
The project involved a 1,000m long, 6.0m diameter concrete-lined shaft with permanent installations. Dumas successfully completed the project to a final depth of 1,500m, including conveyances, compartments, and conveyor drift excavation.
