In February 2017, Dumas commenced work at Myra Falls Mine on Vancouver Island, owned by Nyrstar and operated by Trafigura. The mine required rehabilitation and infrastructure upgrades following a period of care and maintenance.
Dumas first completed a shaft integrity study, then was awarded a comprehensive rehabilitation program. This included replacement of steel and wood shaft guides, installation of ground support, and upgrades across multiple compartments, including skip, service, counterweight, and manway. Dumas also rebuilt the headframe, completed rehabilitation at 24 Level, executed vent and ore pass raises, performed Lynx 5-6 rehabilitation and production, and undertook crusher conveyor repairs and slurry removal.
