The Cerro Blanco project is located in the south of Guatemala near the town of Asuncion Mita, close to the El Salvador border. Dumas was awarded the original raising contract in 2011 and has since undertaken multiple phases of development and rehabilitation at the site.
Initially, Dumas excavated a total of four raises totalling 435 metres. Crews also advanced more than 500 metres into a 3,750 metre raise development contract before the project was temporarily put on hold. In 2014, Dumas returned to commence dewatering and rehabilitation of 430 metres of drift. More recently, Dumas has been involved in ongoing care and maintenance work, including the installation of a steel super core liner on the south portal.
