In 2012, Dumas was contracted to deliver shaft sinking, engineering, and mine development at Pinos Altos, in Chihuahua State, Mexico. Owned and operated by Agnico Eagle Mines Ltd., the project focused on the construction of the mine’s production shaft.
Dumas completed the sinking of a 4.9-metre-diameter, 615-metre-deep concrete-lined production shaft, with shaft steel and utilities installed during sinking. The project also involved the development of three shaft stations with over 8,000m³ of off-shaft development, two 7m-diameter ore bins, and the installation of the 28L loading pocket. Dumas was further responsible for procurement and engineering, including galloway, concrete forms, bucket and crosshead, and collar structures.
