In 2008, Dumas commenced work on shaft sinking at the Westwood Mine, located in Preissac, Quebec.
Dumas excavated a 5.5m diameter concrete-lined shaft to a depth of 1,958m, including permanent installations. The project also included slashing an 8′ Raisebore pilot hole with a 2-boom jumbo from surface to the 840m level, and completing full-face development from 840m to shaft bottom.
