Hoyle Pond

In 1998, Dumas commenced work at Hoyle Pond Mine, located in Timmins, Ontario. Operated by Goldcorp Inc., later acquired by Newmont, and now operated by Discovery Porcupine, Hoyle Pond has required continuous development, rehabilitation, and construction support to sustain its deep mining operations.

Over more than two decades, Dumas has provided a wide range of services, including engineering, Alimak raising, shaft enlargement excavation and equipping across three deepening programs, mine decline and level development, mechanical and conventional raising, as well as construction and rehabilitation projects. Historically, Dumas excavated more than 2,000 metres per year of ramp and level development, in addition to approximately 600 metres per year of narrow vein drifts. Work has also included major construction initiatives, such as upgrading the mine’s main ventilation system with the installation of fans, bulkheads, vent doors, and electrical systems.  Currently Dumas supports Hoyle Pond mine construction and rehabilitation scopes of work.
